July 2007

  • MnSCU awards $1,225,000 for year three of HealthForce Minnesota
  • Award of third round of HealthForce Minnesota awards totaling $593,618;  20 projects were awarded for FY 08
  • First Lean in Healthcare Conference

May 2007

  • Review begins of third round of HealthForce Minnesota awards totaling close to $1.2 million dollars in request
  • HealthForce Minnesota’s K-12 inaugural Staff Development Day
  • HealthForce Minnesota and K-12 hosted first ever Health Careers Camp; 60+ participants

March 2007

  • DOL $5 million grant opportunity pursued through DEED and State of Minnesota; not selected but positioned HealthForce Minnesota to pursue other sources of funds with an excellent collaborative idea
  • Added to the HealthForce Minnesota family, University of Minnesota Center of Allied Health and Augsburg College—Rochester as partners and members respectively. 
  • Launched RFP round three for FY08; applications due April 30, 2007

February 2007

  • Media event held in Rochester drawing regional media and senior healthcare and education partners who came together in dialogue to celebrate FY06 outcomes and FY07 awards
  • Added human resource capacity through creative use of marketing student interns and shared resources with other HealthForce Minnesota partners

January 2007

  • Added Healthcare Education-Industry Partnership, Minnesota State University–Mankato, as a partner of HealthForce Minnesota.

December 2006

  • Award of second round of HealthForce Minnesota awards totaling $768,554

November 2006:

  • Microsoft award to supplement HealthForce Minnesota FY 2006 project announced by Minnesota State Southeast Technical College

October-November 2006:

  • Review of FY 2007 RFP responses totaling: $1,049,582

September 2006:

  • Issuance of RFP for second round of projects

August 2006:

  • Two partner consortia apply for $2 million Department of Labor grants with HealthForce Minnesota as a partner

July 2006:

  • Award of first leveraged grant—Minnesota Job Skills partnership, $260,000

January 2006:

  • Awarding of funding to first 15 projects and 3 study groups at approximately $738,000

December 2005:

  • Issuance of Request for Proposals for first round of projects

November 2005:

  • Hiring of consultants: Integro and Prouty Project
  • Launch of HealthForce Minnesota organization network; 15 partners, 134 members
  • Beginning of leveraged grant through the Department of Labor and HealthForce Minnesota; Healthcare Academy in Albert Lea and Austin with focus on simulation

October 2005:

  • Winona State University and partners respond to state of Minnesota and the Centers of Excellence request for proposal
  • Award of Center of Excellence to Winona State University and Partners

  • Governor's proclamation regarding the Centers of Excellence
