Scrubs Camp: Creating a Pathway to Healthcare Careers

When teenagers think of summer, they think of having fun with their friends. During Scrubs Camp not only will high school students develop new friendships and have fun, they will have access to top-notch health care facilities, activities, and professionals and learn about more than 30 careers in the healthcare field.

Having just completed its second year, Scrubs Camp continues to evolve, offering only exciting hands-on learning experiences during each session. This increased interaction between students and professionals will serve as a catalyst to spark student interest in the healthcare field.

New sessions this year included DNA in Action, Jungle Medicine, and Anatomy in Clay. Trained peer leadership was another new benefit to students. A number of returning juniors and seniors served as peer leaders and assisted Scrubs Camp and Winona State University staff with activities and served as positive role models to campers.
