HealthForce Minnesota Supports Winona Senior High School Career Fair
HealthForce Minnesota K-12 Health Science Partnership participated in the Winona Senior High School career awareness events for two weeks in September 2007. We partnered with the Mayo Clinic and Winona Health to promote healthcare careers during the Fair.
Daily the Mayo Clinic or Winona Health shared information about possible career opportunities in the healthcare field with the 1,500 Winona High School students and staff.
A selection of programs offered:
- Health Information Management (HIM)
- Labs
- Nursing
- Respiratory Therapy
- Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy
- Long Term Care
- Imaging
Displays included data about jobs that focused on:
- Educational requirements
- Responsibilities
- Salaries
Students also were presented:
- Hands-on activities (finger cast, EKG, pulse oximetry, Lab Test Tubes)
- Pamphlets
- Brochures
We feel it was a successful two weeks for both presenters and students.
