| Healthforce Minnesota, a Center of Excellence, awarded 25 scholarships to participants who attended the Bio-Medical Science workshop on February 28, 2008 at the Minnesota Department of Education building in St. Paul, Minnesota.
One of the goals of the Center of Excellence is to strengthen the K -12 partnerships in Minnesota so students can understand healthcare career education at the post-secondary level. The conference provided teachers with ten modules that can be implemented into academic courses highlighting applied health career information.
Due to the applied nature of the content and its connection to the goals of the Center, HealthForce Minnesota sponsored 25 participants to attend the workshop. These scholarships were given on a first come, first serve basis. Recipients who received the scholarships filled out a short survey sharing how they anticipate using the information they learned at the conference in their teaching or administrative roles.
