Common Career Technical Core

The Common Career Technical Core (CCTC) is a state-led initiative to establish a set of rigorous, high-quality standards for Career Technical Education (CTE). The standards were informed by state and industry standards and developed by a diverse group of teachers, business and industry experts, administrators and researchers.

Federal and State Requirements as a Pathway to Nursing Assistant

The HCCC was crosswalked with the assistance of the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) to the federal and state requirements for nursing assistant curriculum. The HCCC can be used as a pathway to the Nursing Assistant with prior approval by the MDH.

HOSA – Future Healthcare Professionals Competitive Events

HOSA is a unique program of leadership development, motivation and recognition for secondary, post-secondary, adult and collegiate students enrolled in health occupations education programs. HOSA is 100% healthcare. HOSA provides competitive events in healthcare.

Skills USA Competitive Events

SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations, including health occupations. Skills USA provides competitive events for students.

Medical Careers Teacher Licensure Requirements

Designed for secondary teachers, the career and technical education (CTE) additional licensure and endorsements are based on requirements from the Minnesota Board of Teaching. CTE additional licensure is based on the pedagogical core of the Teacher Education Sequence courses and subject matter competencies. The “HCCC Educate the Educator” course was cross-walked to the standards required for CTE instructors to show evidence of knowledge in healthcare.
